Just bought one of these: https://www.armyandoutdoors.co.nz/co...ert-mvp-jacket
Absolutely love it, great practical fit and set up. Bomb proof thus far, last few weeks hunting has been in heavy rain and pushing through soaking scrub etc... no leaks and toasty warm inside. One hunt i got short on time and had to boost out so instead of back and forward off the track, river bank/bed and crossing it i just highwayed down the middle of the river for a couple of kms. Was cold on the legs, especially when it was riding up but i had that jacket on with a thermal under it and was enough to keep me comfortable enough to keep blasting down the valley. Have been that impressed by it i bought a second!
Am sure these ones will be equally as good as the British nato ones. And in German fleck camo which most would probably be more into.

Cheers for replies, confirms my ideas of what soft shells are for.
I have the Guide in XL and the Yukon in L and it fits over the top excellent, you need to jump on Kuiu on You Tube and have a watch to see what fits the bill, the Yukon is a mean jacket as wind is the killer once your wet and it's 100 bullet proof. The Guide is the go to jacket for everyday use. Comfortable and warm and quiet.

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

Like these guys said, buy the guide jacket in a non camo colour as you'll wear it everywhere it's so plush.
Yukon jacket for the wet stuff. Waterproof and windproof, packs down into its own hood nice and small. Arm pit heat dump zips, couple pockets. Not the quietest but if you need to wear it the rain will probably be louder than you.
My only gripe with the Yukon is its quite a short fit, would be perfect if they had a version with something like a split tail to keep your ass dry when you sit down.
No mention of Sitka yet?
I find my one pretty good. Dry and comfortable as it breathes very well.
I like that it comes as a solid color. Not a massive fan of camo.
