I recently pulled out an old hunting knife I made to give it a bit of a polish up. Then got the knife I have been using regularly (a folder) and weighted them both. I was surprised that the fixed blade was only 66 grams heavier than the folder. Blade length is comparable and the fixed blade is full tang. Does anyone actually care what their knife weighs or is it just cookers and packs?
Can't remember how much they weigh and can't be arsed to go downstairs and weigh them but my Mora and Spyderco are both noticeably lighter than the others I have- and they're generally the two that get to come. So yes I must care. :)

Never worried about knife weight, it pales into insignificance when compared to good steel and edge holding retention and re-sharping.
A shit knife is a frustrating tool that seems to fight against you and adds a lot of work to the job at hand.
A great knife is a thing of joy to use and believe me if it weighs a bit more than a crap knife you wont even think about it, you will bless it, treasure it, look after it but you wont weigh it.

Ive just used a Svord Peasant knife for the last decade. Cheap as chips and only weigh about 70grams
I use a high carbon opinel no 8 which weighs 45grams. Absolute pearler of a knife.
Anything over 6oz (170grms) for a hunting knife on my belt is too heavy for me. That would be a medium thickness 5" knife.
A 4" belt knife at 4oz (113grams) is about right for me.
Not sure what they weigh sorry. I don't have any kitchen scales at my flat.
The first is a Muela Pik As. Made in Spain.
And the second is a cheap Kershaw.

Saw this thread and though, great I should go get my small knife and chuck it on the scales to photograph... Only to find by belt and pouch(few rounds/Boresnake/Drivers Licence) that it sits in is not in the top of my pack, where it has been for the past 4 days out in the hills... Another misplaced item now waiting for a new owner.
Anyway it was a standard Gerber LST (the small one) weighed in at just over 18g.
Oh well time to buy another one.
