    Wind and water proof jacket

I'm looking to find out what you guy are using for an outer layer that is wind and water proof but not to heavy and can be put in your pack until or after needed.
I sent the week in the Victorian high country at a much higher elevation than normal and found out the gear I'm currently using was inadequate.
I have always carried a water proof poncho and though it kept me dry the wind made it flap and be very noisey

I'm quite a fan of the Earth Sea Sky Hydrophobia. Have a couple of them now and one of them I wear on the farm a fair bit so it's taken a real good beating for lightweight jacket and still going strong. Pack down small and keep me dry for hours in constant rain.

My go to serious jacket is now the Hunters Element Odyssey and I love it. I have also acquired the HE Halo jacket which may suit your needs more as a lightweight pack able option.

Agree Ryan, great for getting to the fly-camp warm and dry, even wet not uncomfortable to put on in the morning, but I find it a bit noisy for stalking...
