just a couple of points
tahr i put the v edge on knives because if some one has a convex edge and does not know how to sharpen it they will drive it onto a stone or steel and you end up with a short blunt edge.
if you know and like a convex edge it is easy to put on and people that do will mod their edges accordingly
shelly i do have a first name i dont mind if you use it .it seems strange to read just my last name :)
scoped you should use that knife d2 is to good a steel to leave in the drawer
i am still working at the moment just not taking new orders so people are not disappointed with the wait time

Yes John, that's a very reasonable approach about the edge profile. Some people simply shouldn't fiddle with knive edges and leave what you provide them with well alone. :)
A good v edge can do all that is required.

A fine shallow angle vee and microbevel is the equal or better of a convex IMHO , tho neither done properly will handel abuse most owners will dish out hence most "factory" knives with a steep vee.

But getting back to that knife you made HGD, I really like it, I thought, mistakenly that you just used stainless, but O1 is my favourite steel and the recurve is my favourite shape, would you be able to tell us a little more about that particular knife, size and thickness would be good to know, oh and the wood looks amazing whatever it is.

veitnamcam try this sharpen a knife with your edge and try to cut a half circle in and out from the side of a sheet of a4 paper.then try with a good convex edge let me know the result
