Its up to you guys, if you just have a cracker pic or two you want to enter than post em in this thread, ( I will however be trimming this to keep it tidy ).
If you have a story with pics about your opening weekend etc then post it in your own thread ( then people can reply all they want ) & then after the close off date I will just copy & paste the first post only in that thread into the "competition voting thread" which will be open for two weeks

Birds at different stages of "jumping". The bird dead centre intrigues me. Looks like it's sunning it's wings like a shag!

Jeez TB I am away and your straight into my spots
You would have heard some shooting from the swamp? It sucks missing opening:XD: I will make sure I dont next year. Did you find many rafts? I normally dont start on the river beds till after opening. You did well.
We should go for a shot the week I get home? The ponds on the farms hav'nt been shot if we cant find a good raft.
-
Well you must have had a word to them before you left cause they all wanted to land on the other side haha. I saw around 80 further down yesterday afternoon and they were shooting that maize paddock at Langs so I thought I'd go in between and hope for the best!
Couldn't hear too much from the swamp direction but the maize was going well most of the morning.
-
Thats just river bed shooting eh? No matter how well you think you have it sussed the buggers just do their own thing on the day. You are a lot further down than I shoot by the looks.
See many trading up and down? How long have they had a maize paddock across there? Interesting.
Shooting the rivers again tomorrow? I thought I could handle missing the morning but it is bloody depressing seeing photos of home and brilliant weather for shooting. Did you hear Brucey flyin around about lunchtime?
-
I'm off the end of F south road, The maize is up on the next farm- same side of river. They had it last year when we sprayed it in the chopper. There was a couple hundred birds there he said but I never saw them myself. Was plenty of birds around.
Do you know if your mate was shooting where they were last year? Quite a few birds on that pond yesterday.

No we normally go in the swamp for opening and shoot the farms on the sunday, they definitely went to the swamp. I am not sure if he is or not tomorrow. I doubt it. I will be pissed off if he does as he hasnt asked and it is my spot. You are welcome to shoot it with me when I am home if it hasnt had a tong up. Or if you are struggling to find a spot for the morning call in and see Nev he should let you have a go as I dont normally shoot it till mid season. We have only shot it on opening weekend because of the weather the last 3 years flooding the swamp.

I'm off over the hill tonight to shoot an irrigation pond at a farm my brothers working on in oxford tomorrow morning, just thought it sounded pretty quiet down that way this morning.Should be well stocked by the time you get back!

No worries I will get the cook to tee it up with her brother for us and stop anyone else shooting it and we will hound it when I get home. Bring your camera so we can contribute to this thread a bit more, I am shit at taking photo's:P Have a good shoot tomorrow Rube.

How do you like the camo on your gun Chris? Is it fading off? I had a pump escort few years back that went white nearly the camo came off leaving me with a gun that was bloody near white.
