    20g lead ban.

Heard a wee rumour that Southland has banned lead shot for waterfowl in 20g?
    Anyone heard anything?
I wonder if fish & game will buy my 20g off me if it becomes policy in my region?
Their support of ridiculous personal agendas may have put me off buying a licence this year, if true.

I struggled last season , and not from lack of trying . The season before last there where good numbers . Im hoping that this year they have breed and survived well . The quail are about but finding areas to hunt them is getting harder . The dairy farmers are farming right to the river beads now as land as they use ever scrap of land . The rough edges are really rough and hopeless to hunt . Before the dairying sheep used to graze the gorse and broom and keep it open and grass short . Quail don't do well in the thick rank grass . There are still a few wee spots but not like it used to be .

About time too ,why should 20g be exempt ? Seems like double standards to me.

Well looks like i'll be getting my 28g inserts out if I want to keep shooting. I ain't putting steel shot thru my expensive lightweight 20g U/O and I cant justify a semi 12g for a few times a year. Will just go back to clay shooting instead,

No Worries, I occasionally use them for sporting clays with the group of "gentlemen" i shoot regularly with. But they say I use a girls gun anyway so using a kids gun is fun too.
Saving for a good U/O in 12g now, have you seen the prices of them, ouch
