I'll stick by what I said thanks R93 ,40+ years DTL ,Skeet & Sporting taught me about lead for those but steel changed the rules.
No more than 1/4 choke & shoot straight at them or half the lead you use with leed. If they too high for leed steel will knock them down.

Look up 10m, 15m and 20m velocities of both lead and steel shot of equal charge and weight.
Then explain how you halve lead between the 2 please.
Bare in mind a good lead load of Gamebore claims say 1300 fps at the muzzle and some steel claims 1600fps.
300 fps even if maintained at say 25m is not enough to halve or have no lead.
300 fps difference at say 20 yrds equates to mere inches not feet or yards

My very limited shotgun experience is that steel is more shitter than lead?
But as I said limited.
As already mentioned, cover the skin up. Your face will look like a beacon to the ducks when you look skyward, keep still until it's action stations. Good luck & have some safe fun :thumbsup:
Spot on further to this because the steel is lighter, it loses velocity faster. So at range it is on par with lead shot or even slower, therefore steel at range requires even more lead as the lead has more weight and more momentum.Quote:
