Auckland Pheasants

Hey team,

Just wondering if anyone knows of any pheasant shooting areas in the Auckland region or even north Waikato?

I’m being optimistic that there will be some sort of game bird season this year and have acquired a shotgun so would like to have a crack at some pheasants with the dog.

Any help much appreciated.

Never heard of any on public land. Plenty on the places you can't shoot.

Topuni Forest at Wellsford has been good hunting for pheasants in the past.
Access permits are issued through the Fish & Game Northland office.

A mate does pheasants. He gets access to private forests in the coromandel through the forest companies.
