id be more interested in why numbers in parts of the region are down and why numbers region wide aren't better after a good spring.

They all seem to be in paddocks and unshot irrigation ponds around here. Most parries I've seen for a while as well. The pond in the Ashburton Domain is starting to slowly build up as per normal. The numbers taken on opening weekend will probably be down, but should provide a steady flow throughout the season for those who shoot right through.

Nothing about reporoa in there glad I don't shoot opening there but for rest of season I do (witch is 4 weeks). Mite get full limit on second weekend (4 mallards greys). I'm upset for the season length at least my runoff pond is out of reporoa area

Yes the bastards killing the new grass paddocks then they bugger off just before opening weekend.
Nothing is tough about having a 70 lb bow and looking like an uncoordinated praying mantis while trying to draw it back.

I' was in that area once to twice a week. saw heaps of mallards and scored some access. Just a bit far to travel for 4 ducks thou. Where abouts are you FatLabrador, next time I'm in the area I'll drop in for a cuppa.
