    for a up close or general call the olt66/sonderman 66 is still hard to beat
    got a rip mallard Hammond that is a great call as is the D.C. Brown Sugar

    its not the call its how you use it.

    The Olt66 is my choice for close in calling and I prefer double reed types or ones with a metal red for long range calling to get the sods to turn your way, then sweet talk them with the 66!!!

    Good luck. Pegging day on the 10th & opening not too far after.

    haydels red leg mallard call raspy bit suttle enough for a reasonable single hen quack.
    used to love the hammond goose flute but since getting some local made short reed calls cant blow a flute to save myself some would say a short reed either
