    Chukar in Otago

    Hi all
Just a quick question, has anyone had success targeting Chukar in Otago?
I have seen some below Mt St Bathans whilst chasing sheep but that was last century. I was wondering about hunting on the old Micheal peak run which is now DOC land.
    Thoughts?

Do used a heap of poison ereal baits for ra bits etc a d it decimated the birds over years, but I don't know the more recent situation.

I know a spot that I've seen 5-10 birds each time I've been down that way. Its a hell of a way to Lug a shotgun.

I will do it some day as they are awesome birds. I'd be lying if I hadn't spent too much time while chasing deer looking at Chukar in the Binos. I got very lucky finding the population to be fair.

Hope to chase some next year but will be down south as Marlborough / Tasman has short season (or no open season depending) and 2 bird limit.

If anyone is keen on chasing any Chukar next year and want some company I'm keen. And that goes for NI pheasants too. Cheers
