    Decoys

    Hey folks.

Decided to get back in to the game for next season

As such I'll be needing some decoys for ducks.

    Shooting a big pond mostly.

Sounds like a motion decoy or 2 is a must.

Budget is $500 for decoys plus one motion one.

For mainly mallards and parries. Parries being my prime target species.
Any recommendations would be much appreciated?
    Cheers

Join some of the facebook pages, especially the buy sell versions, (waterfowl hunter buy/sell etc) second hand older types to start just to get some good numbers. sadly $500 wont get you very far these days if you got for new.
I prefer quality of quantity but I also mainly hunt smaller bodies of water so might not be the best bet for your situation. water movement is pretty key for calm days, cheap easy way is a jerk rig, they are great water movements. Some sort of wing spinner can be great for getting the long range attraction up. Like mentioned above too it depends on if you are hunting mainly mallards or parries, mallards can be more finicky and parries a lot less.
