My grandfather was of the opinion that mallards would wise up fast to the fact that every time they got too close to a clump of manuka they got a charge of shot........ but I still use it.

th secret to good camo as taught by the green machine -how to turn yaself into a" hey look no see me type".you can use anything but make sure the cover is typical of the area your miaimai is sited in IEya wouldnt have a flaxbush maimai on ya local park ponds. last year my shooting mate removerd an old headge at his place -it blended in perfectly withour maimai .previous year i helped a mate remove flax bushes++++++ from his place so recycled em by weaving them into the brown plastic netting you can buy.excellent!
I have two purpose buil;t no see me suits ,plus a portable maimai made up opf fibreglass tentpoles and camo nets-fits 2 at a squeeze.Ive also kept my laydown blind which ive had over ten years -its a 10-15min job to camo up no sweat.

Do your selves a favour, if you have a good spot plant flax around your Maimai and honeysuckle at the base of the main posts. In 2 years you will be cutting it away to open up spots to shot and you won’t need to cut Manuka which takes ages to grow.
Il post a photo tomorrow of our old Maimai you can’t even see it we are standing in front.
