    The Duckinator

    Posting this up for amusement. It's my little invention to retrieve downed ducks and decoys. I'm sure others have come up with something similar. I keep the hook points covered for retrieving decoys and uncover them for ducks. Have it rigged and ready on a cheap, but sturdy telescopic fishing rod. Works pretty well. Less hassle than a dog!

    Huge treble hook and rubber beads from a fishing tackle shop. Net float from Burnsco.

    A real upgrade from the branch on a bit of string I used this year.
    If I don't get another gundog a duck grapple like that is the answer.

    Yeah less hassle than a dog until you hook yourself then the hassle of getting out of the swamp and off to A & E
