    Ducklings

There were about 4 groups of similar size on neighbors paddock

Looks like breeding season was fairly successful. I reckon possibly 100 birds out there having a great time

Don't forget the magpies !, the old lady has had 3-4 pet magpies for years not the pic up type but she feeds them on the lawn they come up really close , now she wants them shot iv been trying to get her to film the action but she wont , seemly they have turned into some freak raptors hunting in 2,s killing thrushes , black birds , wax eyes , raiding nests and ducklings in the paddock , she reckons they are carting there prey back to the nest !!

I LOVE ducks to the point I don't shoot them anymore. I DO miss them on my plate, however.

I sure enjoyed seeing that photo...thanks.

Boaraxa....shotgun with a stout load of lead #2s through bottom of the nest at night will take care of mum, dad and the little ones hatched or otherwise makes magpies into good magpies quick smart.

Saw mum duck out with 8 ducklings on Saturday, when I went back on Sunday there were only 7. Survival of the fittest I suppose.
