A variety of reasons . They fade and go shiney in the sun. I never leave decoys out. Leaving them out would be detrimental to your hunting.Quote:

Color isn't that important to ducks, my granddad shoots over black painted polystyrene shaped like a duck with no heads and still gets ducks. I do agree about the spooking part though although it never stops me leaving the 2 on my small pond by the house all season.
Yep I hand paint a lot of my decoys Toby and the flat black is a predominant colour. Its the shine which is No good!Quote:
