    Failure in the nest department...

    No matter how earnest the little hen maybe making a nest and laying a clutch in the middle of a row in the vineyard is not really that good an idea...as we know how finicky hen pheasants can be, she has duly abandoned the nest...

    Went back the following day but someone had had a nice meal out of them...

    Used to see young pheasants with legs chopped off during hay mowing in the old days. nests and young in open grassy cover / paddocks. Bloody shame.
