Thread: Fishing during duck season?

Hi all. I’m taking my 14 year old fishing this weekend. The plan is to head to lakes Selfe & Lyndon, camping somewhere overnight. I suddenly realised it was duck shooting season though - I’ve never done any duck shooting, so it hadn’t occurred to me. Do you think it’s too risky?

Not at all, use common sense and you will be ok, If you see decoy's either head in opposite direction or give them a wide birth and go around them.
Duck shooters generally won't be too close to a public access point as it is easier to get ducks to decoy where there are no Kids, dogs etc running around making a lot of noise.

check your season dates....other than hydro lakes MOST areas are now out of fishing season....
Some of us have been known ,where legal to go fishing WHILE duckshooting lol
agree 100% with the above,if can see decoys just give it a wide berth...at least couple or 300 yards minimum...you dont really want the noise disturbing your day anyway.
