Thread: Game Bird Hunting in Auckland

Gidday fellas,

I had my first and only season of game bird shooting in the naki back in 2018. It was an absolute ripper on some late cut maize fields near a large lake on my old neighbours land.



I'm now in Auckland and keen to learn how the public game bird system works here. Is it mostly water shooting with a retrieving dog as necessary? or will I be able to walk a few streams or set up land based with decoys and caller in hand?

Alternately, I pride myself in my woodwork and would be happy to trade a few builds to tag along in future seasons.
