Getting movment into your pond decoy spread

Looking into ways of getting the surface water to ripple so the decoys will move around a bit.

I have seen floating decoys with rotating wings that send out ripples as it works,

the Edge by Expedite H2O Quiver Magnet looked a go until reading the reviews about eatting batteries Cabela's - Edge by Expedite H2O Quiver Magnet customer reviews - product reviews - read top consumer ratings

Everything has batteries, This got me thinking, can I make a foot operated paddle system to make the surface water move?

What about a blow up bed pump running through a pipe into the pond in between the feeding decoys? pump air with foot, get water moving and no batteries!

What are other peoples out side the square ideas?

One thing I was pondering with was to run a single decoy on a dog retractor lead. Have it fully extended out and when you see a bird release the button to pull it in towards you. Only problem would be to have to either set up a pulley or to walk the decoy back out after each use. You could even run a number of decoys in a line if you want to get exciting?

I have used all manner of motion decoys from jerk string, quiver magnets, Wonder duk, Lucky Duck Wing Spinners, Ultimate Hunter Swim n Decoy
Found I didn't have enough hands to operate all the toys always something going wrong with one of them tangled up in weed or flat batteries.
I now use one of these

Cabela's: The Mallard Machine Three-Decoy System

if you are only after ripples on the water, collect a bag of small stones, wen the ducks are circling thro 1 into the middle of your decoys

Seen this interesting gadget the other day , Mojo Jerk-a-spreader at Cabelas
    Item: IK-420230
Might be a go for that movement in the decoys you need

Most ponds or dams have eels.Select a few decoys and a big hook and some line.Within minutes after things have quietened down most of yas would have bait. The eels can move ya decoys all round the pond and can be retrieved by a good gun dog if ya want too eat the eel or release them.No harm too the eel as its a plastic decoy but good feed if ya dog retrieves it and ya want a feed of eel.

how do you stop the line the eel has from getting tangled around your other decoy lines, could easily turn into a tangled up mess that takes hours to sort.

    Make more movement then aye

Very short line works well, the main spread are anchored in a group and the old huckery ones have the hooks on are just biffed in any where when things get quiet. It looks great when a southerley blowing and ya have a decoy headn north real fast.Great entertainment for the kids too when things get quiet....keeps them amused. And all are released when we leave.
