    actually being a native coaster and all ,ive a wee confession to make-Im with Ryan on this -one feed of bait per year is ample for me -dunno why ,just me i suppose.

    finely cut some fresh red cod fillets.throw it in an egg batter - you will not taste the difference, only thing missing are the eyes. for the price, whitebait way overrated.

    @Ryan. A good substitute for whitebait is grated potato as used in mock whitebait patties. Very hard to tell the difference.
