    Good Opening Day in Canterbury

Shot all day Saturday for 3 limits on mallards with half a dozen painful parries thrown in.

Shot half a dozen on Sunday morning then home for brekky and 6 hours of hand plucking \

    Way to go Nathan
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Nice work. Think we will use the left over embers from our hangi fire next year to.get rid of all the feathers. We ended up with a scene the same as yours lol

you do realise that fly anglers will give you half a dozen beer for a reasonable bag of the CDC feathers from the ass of those ducks? Shame.

Just a small pond . 50 m X 20 m . We have been feeding reguarly . Out of 75 mallards there were only 3 that were breasted due to gunshot wounds. Very fat birds.

    Great eating.

I breasted all mine only really 2 or three that would have been worth plucking 30 odd ducks is a big task on your own.
I'm well set up to breat out at the maimai - ply cutting work board and hole dug for offal
Any other birds shot htis season will be plucked
