    Lake Otamangakau

    Afternoon all,

Anyone care to share information on this lake re duck hunting? Access, permit requirements etc looks pretty reasonable and alot closer than my traditional spots in the Manawatu.

    Cheers

the road around the lake has been closed for a few years, so to get to the back of lake a boat is needed i believe. used to have a spot on one of the canals but the bird numbers got that low i have given up. never used any permit? maybe i should have done.

Gave them a ring, access off roads leading in or canals, no permit required and average numbers after opening weekend, birds will be well earnt apparently.
