    Lake Waipapa

    Anyone hunted on Waipapa for mallards?looking for somewhere new to try,have Canadian canoe and 12ft parkercraft with sides on it I can shoot from,waikato river is pretty much done between Cambridge and Hamilton with cycle ways ,houses and. Walking tracks along its length now. Thanks

    Years since Ive been there but the upper reaches of Arapuni were always interesting.

    Depending on where you are based have you thought about the waipa river, I used to drift, row and shoot from say whatawhata to Ngaruawahia, or even Pirongia to whatawhata,

    Used to drift Waipa in my canoe but gunboats roaring up and down with shooter in the anchor wells blasting away put me off..

    Cripes. Why dont F&G and the plods deal to the morons doing that?

    I live very close to the waipa river, I haven’t seen a boat, a duck hunter since opening weekend. In fact I am lucky if I hear more than 2 or 3 shots in the morning, I think quite a few hunters have given up already this season.

    because its hard to catch them..then prove it..then have more $$$ in kitty for lawyers...and beat argument that they were targeting geese....that would be my guess

    bit like the argument why dont police chase noisy exhaust levels....enter lawyers who own harleys.

    same argument still applies... its a shit situation for sure,but I can see the issues trying to enforce it.
