Cool Mai Mai Prep for 2012

The kind cocky has had the digger in and cleaned out the pond . She even went as far as having the driver mound up some earth in the correct position to form the beginings of a small mai mai

Am really looking forward to next year as we were reguarly getting 20 plus mallards from a night shoot at the season end here . We used to sit in lay out blinds in the same spot.

With a bit of planting and TLC it will be good to go in 5 months.

The mission the weekend before was moving the other mai mai 200 m further out into the lake while it was dry .Again this will be completed before the end of January to give the locals time to get used to it.

No tractors were stuck this time but thats a different story

Good to hear the decz are going ok. I can't wait for my next days hunting to be honest. I am in the middle of my longest period of no hunting in maybe 10 years!! Been busy with work and domestic chores. I should be back down next season.... we might have to "T" up a day on the lake.

Went and cut a trailer load of manuka today and headed out to the lake with some power tools to add the finishing touch's

All the manuka was wired into place and scrub and grass cut back to allow better visibility of the full bodied dek's!

It was very pleasing to see all the ducks and geese hanging around when we arrived. They seem very comfortable with the
    new structure
