My Queens Birthday

I woke to hear the shots
Over the hill
Through the valley way beyond

I see the ducks
Making silhouettes as they fly
Through the dawns lightening sky

I cannot hear the whir
Of any roosters wings
No bells tinkling against the cheek winds

Holding tightly is the plaster
No boot will fit the leg
No matter how I may beg

The Beretta stands
Sulking in its bonds
Eley VIPs will not be shouting a hunter's song

The dogs turn thrice
The sun now shining through the mesh
They can dream their dreams of hunts not hunted yet

Have three weeks and one day more to go:omg:...hurry hurry up!!! ...the build up to Opening Day is always so exciting and then to not be able to carry on has been very disappointing...still that is the way of it...while I was in the fracture clinic a guy came in on a wheelchair with boths his legs amputated from below the knee...it was very sombering because there was I feeling ratty about the inconvenience and bother of hobbling about for six weeks...

Of course you could have worked the mutts without shooting.....

Not permitted to drive and my cast is a non weight bearing one...so its the two stick waltz for me:TT TT::D

Heheheheheheeee..., had to use the cake slide with the long blade the other night (the cleaning rod for the shotgun was too thick to reach!!! I understand knitting needles are good too!!)...worked a treat!! I will sterilise it before using it for dishing up pies and things!!!!
