    New upland game bird - Good eating

    I was up the back of the farm last night and instead of the normal peacocks, pheasants etc I cam across this big bugger

    so I wipped back down to the house, got my shotgun and sprinted back up to the top. It was still there

    so I gave it both barrels of number five. Never even scratched the mongrel.

    What the hell is it?
    It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
    What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
    Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
    Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
    Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
    Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
    Rule 5: Check your firing zone

    Very good camera work. I think it does stints on Sesame Street.

    I think it is a lesser spotted stuffed moa, but best to check with the experts at Te Papa.... And careful Rushy, they are apparently carnivorous...

    Some one nearby have an Emu farm? There's a couple farming them just up the road here ,very good eating apparently.The eggs are great for cooking too. That bird might be worth a few buck Rushy ,wouldn't want a kick from it though .
