    Otago hunting

    Hi guys.
I have been ummmmming and arrrring about moving back to the South Island.
I recently got a new job in Queenstown and will be moving down after one more tour to PNG.
Just after some ideas on areas that would be suitable for duckshooting. Not having a dog im limited to paddocks and will plan on driving around to try find some spots. But just wondering if I can get pointed in the right direction.
Obviously QT gardens are out ;-)

    Thanks all!

Most Central Otago duck shooters seem to either go down to Southland, or over to eastern Otago. There are a few that shoot the top end of end of Lake Dunstan on private land. The Glenorchy area has potential as well, but I don't know the rules regarding the large estuary/pond area there.

Come shoot opening with me and my boy ball bags. Penty of room and normally plenty of birds.
Congrats on the job at home. I'm glad you got out of here safe and sound.☺

There's a little lake behind Frankton called lake Johnson, it used to be shot.
I have been away from there for a few years now.
I'll be somewhere in southland opening day, you are welcome to join me.
I need some one who can still swing onto them

    Bloody appreciated! I'm
Keen to meet up with a few hunters around the area for a beer one day. And meet some new people with similar interests.

No problem with the meet up, I don't know what the QT branch NZDA is like but no drought you will find out.
Invercargill has some good blokes in it.
Like anything what you put in is what you get out of it.
I've meet some great people on this forum who wouldn't know me if they past me on the street.
I don't like going to town
These forum members have gone out of there way to HELP, I would like to name some but then I could miss someone out.
I find if your are straight up in life, then it has opportunity's that present themselves and you do the best you can with what you are given.
I am getting to philosophical, it's been along day and I haven't killed enough.

Yeah I'm pretty keen to get out and about to see whats around the area. My few days off will be well used for finding new hunting spots.

I have a few spots there and you will certainly get to see a few more in the job. Especially on those weather detours that we all take, just for a nosey😆

Have a property that I cull a few fallow and reds on, handy to town as well.
I will grab you next time we do one.
