Looking to buy a parry call for a young fella thats just starting in to duckshooting. What do people recommend or does anyone have one they want to part with?

I've tried a few over the years n never found ideal one yet. A retuned/detuned goose call works ok... A kids party whistle does to.

Ive made one out of a kids party whistle(the type where when its blown the paper tube unfurls) and the barrel of an old felt marker pen elastoplast holds it together.
makes a passable parrie call
PS did I spell correctly oh great lexicographer MB .id hate to fucking offend you again
goose call gives you the aaark aaark of the female...the party whistle is the closest thing Ive found to the zeek zeek the male does....IF you can get that zeek going really quickly.....like feeding chuckle for mallards..THAT is the landing call they make,I can often get away with doing that by voice alone...one day will find caller that does it properly.

I've got an old goose caller I've had for 20 years, Seems to work fine. It's very loud and definitely turns them around from a long way out. It doesn't sound much like a parrie to me but like I said it seems to work.
I had about a 10 minute conversation this weekend with a hen parrie that landed in a patch of water 500 yards further down the swamp. I must have said the right things cause she eventually got up to come over and see us. funny thing was my mate was out picking up a duck or 2 and completely missed as she flew right over the top of him
I use the wooden #22 NZ paradise call from DJ calls (successor to Olt). I've had it a long time and there was nothing else available. Now I would support one of the NZ call makers like Hammond or Cupped wing.
Oh, and it works just fine once you learn how to drive it.
Hmm, can barely make out the marks but mine would appear to be made by R S Olt, Regular goose call Model L-22
I use a cupped wing white head ..seems good.gsve it a slight reed shuffle though .
I Use A Hammond Works well.
DJ Illinois number 22 is about the closest in my opinion, the cupped wings and hammond take a lot more skill to get a decent sound from
Ducks N Bucks, Kingis N Crays
