    Question - territorial ducks??

need some advice, have a resident pet/hybrid duck on one of our ponds. the pond doesnt seem to hold any other ducks on it other than this one yet our other pond 100 meters away has atleast 15 on it most of the time. theres plenty of cover on both ponds and am think that may be this pet/hybrid is territorial and is scaring off the mallards.

any input would be much appreciated.

    cheers

    Matt

I have no idea Matt but if you really want to find out then shoot the pet/hybrid and see if the other ducks then move in. Of course this is not a reversible way to determine an answer to your question.

    hen or drake?>?
either way its surprising it aint been either ravished by a mallard drake or gone searching for a mate?
unless ofcourse it already has a nest?
