Pukes and my dog are weird, for some reason he points pukes but will only wind ducks.
Guess that actually makes sense now that I've written it as the ducks are on water where the pukes aren't.

I'm with you Mikee how can you shoot those beautiful little fluffy ducks? :ORLY:
Property we lived on a few years back the pukes where kings of the joint. They killed everything, rats, mice, baby ducks, steel the fruit of the trees. They where like gangsters.
Parry couple used to nest in a hole in the old man pine across from the house about 12 feet in the air. Thought I was seeing things when I seen a parry squeeze out of this hole on to a branch and fly off. They kicked the chicks out once they where born, pukes still managed to nail them.
Two Hawks lived near by, they used to hover above the pukes in a head wind and try and dive in and get their babies, pukes used to leap into the air throwing there feet up trying to grab the hawk and pull them to the ground. Staunch birds the puke. Mini raptors.
We got 4 turkeys and 4 parries in the end. Left the pukes and missed out on the peacocks and mallards in the end, not for lack of numbers, just no chance for a shot.
Managed 6 ducks and a sun tan for the day. Hard work with high ducks. Hope tomorrow is better
Got 21 mallards & 1 unlucky parrie this morning (Waikato). Bloody hard work with the calm clear weather. Could see tons of ducks up high but not dropping in like usual. Hard work to get the numbers we got. Normally bag at least double that on opening morning.
The local shooters are popping off already and it is still semi dark.
Cleaned up just out of Hamilton yesterday put 30 of birds on the deck
You can spit the hook now Rushy hahahahahahaha
10 Mallards. 6 Parries and a Swan for Saturday.
