I ll go and get it and post what it says...be back soon...
This is what is on it...

interesting,i would have thourght fish and game not doc
Fish and Game would be informed of DOC doing that, wouldnt they??
all my duck bands are return DOC, just how they are stamped DOC wont of banded the rooster
So if DOC doesnt band them why would the tags be sent to them and not Fish and Game...
pretty sure DOC are the only ones to officially band wild birds fish and game manage the game birds within that
you dont have to send game bird tags in to Doc you can just ring them in to fng
Where do you live EeeBees?
I shot a hawk that had a leg band but i never bothered to follow through with finding out about it.
Yea well im not impressed when every year pre-lambing we lose 4-5 ewes because they have gotten cast and the filthy f*cking hawks take there eye leaving them to bleed out. So here i am trying to eradicate them and somebody is banding and releasing? Crazy.
Send DoC a bill for the Ewes and the unborn lambs Towley. Argue that they are not properly controlling the wildlife that is subject to their jurisdiction. That'll put the blood pressure up on some cardigan wearing government servant.
OR i could just take satisfaction in my tally which currently stands at 38 this year and an even 50 last year. Exactly the same areas im getting them in to, but for every one you get then it seems like three take its place!
lol best thing you didnt,as you arnt alond to do this lol
Are they protected? I dont consider anything protected when it interfere's in the wellbeing of my stock. I know that an old fulla that i used to pistol shoot with was telling me that waaaay back in the day you were paid for every pair of hawk legs that you bought in.
Yeah mate they are protected, dont no why as they are mongrel things. Im sure everyone shoots them when they get a chance but its probably not that wise posting details on a public forum...
Oh well to late now, saying it is one thing, having physical evidence is something completely different.
Actually, Towely I have only ever observed black backed gulls taking ewes and lambs eyes...the harrier always seems to start on the rib cage of a dead lamb...
pretty sure if they are worrying your stock you are well within your rights to knockem over under current protection laws
Agreed Shoota, there is a grey area in shooting them
