Thread: Rotoehu

Can anyone comment on the rooster numbers in Rotoehu this year?

I have picked up a few pheasants in Kaingaroa so far this season but am finding them few and far between, tempted to do a trip to Rotoehu but its a long drive only to find out the numbers are at similar levels there too.

Yep, pretty much live next to it, there's enough around. Pikowai to Campbell road end has been productive. Kroa can be very productive for phezzies in the right spots. Better quail numbers in there than Rotoehu too.

Cheers, yeah have done well on pheasants in kaingaroa in the past but have found it harder going the last few years, quail numbers are some of the best I’ve seen this year. Quail are good fun, I just prefer to hunt pheasants
