    Southland's 2016 gamebird regulations

At our F & G meeting last night we voted on the regulations for next season. All regulations are the same as last season except we've gone back to a three month season and increased the bag limit to 20 per day for opening and 10 per day after that. Subject to the Minister's approval of course.

Too right mate the Gamebird section on the other forum has gone to the dogs, same issues flogged to death and absolutely petty squabbles on every thread.

50/50 split with hunters rung for phone surveys. 11/1 vote on our council but that was because we voted on adopting all the regulations as recommended by staff in one motion. One of our councillors wanted to increase the limit to 25 so he voted against. Pretty sure he was okay with the season length change. So yes, universally popular amongst the elected councillors.

2o a day for opening is plenty as is 10 a day afterward.especially considering theres other species limits you can take as well.
