If prepared to travel to the Kaimai's 14 km out of Te Aroha you can slash and cart to your hearts content.

with manuka honey going for up to $20k a pottle (I shit you not) you could well be better off to target broom.

@Dynastar27 have plenty of Manuka / Kanuka out West Auckland way. let me know if that's a help to you..

I Usually put a first layer on a little closer to opening but the maimai usually has some greenery growing over it year round anyway or else it sticks out a bit much if in amongst other greenery brush manuka is good for breaking up silhouette, but browns off pretty quickly in the heat - 1 month out is my usual with also Camo nets over the frontage whilst a final layer coming in at 2-3 weeks out as a final green cover layer.

Feeders leading up to the time from now to opening probably are of more value keeping residents around and with a home base and a nice feeding apron for them to forage and feed on... they are bloody good at spotting kibbled maize from the air and their own well worn tracks to the water- as you'd expect.

    Sent you contact details..
I'm drawn to the mountains and streams, its where life is clear, where the world makes most sense!
