Haven't been into my opening possie yet, but locally numbers seem very healthy where take Ruger for a stroll every night there has mob of 100 geese feeding the last two nights and up to 40 mallards regularly feeding in the Estuary as well.
Wished I had grabbed my bino's out of the daypack tonight as the tide was on the turn and there was all manner of birds feeding on the weed banks. I did buy myself a FA layout blind last year and I'm in the process of building a sneak boat so they will get a workout this season

Layout blinds open up so many opportunities. I'll be keen to see what you come up with by way of a boat.

Built out of 3/ 2400x1200 sheets of 70mm Polystrene and plastered with an acrylic plaster - its an idea I came across on a USA web site.
Working for a building merchant does have some perks as it will only cost me construction adhesive and my time with everything else sourced for free so far
