These cooler mornings are starting to get me thinking about ducks! Soon as march hits those days always seem to disappear so quickly.

farm stags were going off at 04;00 this morning...was down to 6 degrees. less than two months now.

Having a poke around the flats with the dog in North Canterbury plenty of birds tucked up under the willows. Say it every year and I'll say it again this year's going to be a good one , also have picked up a tidy wee 410 Bantam for the young fellas so that will be cool.

My duck pond is a tad low....lake opuha.we shoot on the island,well can drive onto it at the moment.....have seen it this low twice before in last 25 years but not this early.it is what it is.will ham it up n enjoy opening weekend anyway
