well I certainly got my moneys worth of paddling, the NW wind got rather intense while I was out in open water, spent a tireing half hour "ferry gliding " back to safer waters, then still had long paddle back to maimai...well actually our never fail maimai has been changed around and looks to have been deserted for season or two..... so we set up in the long grass...but the ducks just werent playing the game...IF BIL had been on the ball he shouldve had a few spoonies first up and a couple of geese later on..but sadly no shots went off from him...I paddled down and finished off a wounded parrie, missed a couple of pigeons ....tight chokes and #3 steel isnt ideal is my excuse...... but yeah was nearly a down trow day...still we had a ball.... we packed up at 4;30 and had tense few minutes as started to paddle home till got into lee of shore....Meg had good snooze in the tall grass and took to sitting in passenger seat of my kayak like a trooper, her first time in the wee boat,I was wrapped she sat still and didnt move at all. got a couple of wet shotguns to clean, salty water means I will give quick whipe down tonight and redo them tomorrow.
my arms are a tad tired now...silly boy pushing it so hard...but dont regret it at all....we had a good day out .
