    Victorian duck season!!!

Kicks off next Saturday, Ellie and I are very excited for it. We have 8 species to hunt in Vic, with my favourite being by far hardheads. Hoping to get my first bluewing and chestnut drakes this year for the wall maybe even a pinkear if they pop in for a look see.
Great place to hunt if you're into your bird hunting. Grey teal and wood ducks are the most common, followed by blackies (which are considered our premier game bird in Aus). Dont get many chestnuts around here and pinkear and hardheads only in wet years. Mountain duck are the least appetizing birds we have. Bluewing are restricted to two birds per day, while the others can make up any amount of the 10 bird bag limit.

not too bad, 10 birds per day of which 2 can be bluewing. We dont have semi autos so its all two or three barrelled shotguns mostly 12 gauge. Think 12 gauge is the maximum down to 410s.

Oh yeah that's not too bad, I take it steel shot over water and lead 200m away like here or is it all steel over there?

The bluewing looks like a spoonie to me. Could be the same duck with a different name. I've only shot one spoonie drake that was in those colors like the pics. I'd like one for the wall one day
