    What to feed out?

    Looking to try feeding out on the creek this year and also the paddock behind the maimai for the parrys, whats a cheap feed option? and where to buy?

    When I had a bit of water to feed I found maize to be the best at dragging ducks in, its as dear as poison down here but it was worth it imo.

    Anything too small and the little birds (sparrows, blackbirds ect) make off with the feed.
    Whole maize is good (not Kibbled) or some of the guys here use peas or you can make a mix of both.

    2. Waiver of Restrictions on Baiting for Waterfowl
    A person may hunt or kill game of the family Anatidae (waterfowl) during the open season for game in all Fish and Game Regions, except Auckland/Waikato Fish and Game Region, where food has been cast, thrown, placed or planted any time during the year.4 In the Second Schedule, Auckland/Waikato Fish and Game Region, Special Condition 4(9), applies to restrictions on baiting.

    Here are the restrictions....

    No person may hunt or kill game of the family Anatidae (waterfowl) in all the area contained within a distance of 100 metres from the margins of any waters together with the area covered by those waters where food has been cast, thrown, placed or planted any time during the period 1 April to 28 June 2021 inclusive.10

    Note that it refers to the margins together with the area covered by those waters.

    Anyone wants thumb sized fejoas. Nelson Tasman area. Whilst mine are beauties the fruit park up the road is over flowing with small fruit. If no one is interested will send them up to @Pengys for pig bait

    Go to your local maize drying plant and see if you can get some floor sweepings.
