    Whats this Bird?

I was given some old taxidermy.I have no idea what this bird is.Yes its stuffed and ugly, and its not coming in the house.
I thought it was a mutton bird but was talking too a guy that said mutton birds are a lot bigger. Some sort of sea bird i'm guessing.

I would have guessed Sooty Tern. May be they are the same thing. Don't really know.

According to 'Oliver' this is the Grey Petrel...the Sooty Shearwater being a summer breeder uses the Grey Petrel's burrows which is a Winter breeder. Breeds on the Campbell, Antipodes and Macquarie Islands and frequents the southern oceans between 30 and 55 South latitude.

Maybe you shouldnt be too hasty in relegating him to the back of the woodshed!!!!!

No real way to hide it these days Chris. I haven't shaved since I knocked off on 21st Dec and man has my beard gone grey. Might just keep it on though.
