    When do you start scouting for duck season

    Keen to give it a decent crack with the boy next year, when do I start scouting for a decent possie, I have a good water way behind my place that holds a few birds

    No time like the present particularly if you want to build up a farm pond. Trap the predators now so the ducklings don't get munched and feed them through and after moulting.

    Never stop scouting, I'm always on the lookout for new hunting spots. Most of the ducks are quite spread out at the moment but will start congregating on their favoured water from February.
