Thread: Woodhill Pheasants

Hey guys, has any one hunted Woodhill before? I've managed to get block two for bit of a shoot, is it any good?

Depending on the block, it can be very good.

Take plenty of water, both for yourself and the dog.

I did about 3-4 years ago.... I had the last block at the top of the peninsula past the army base. It was bone dry with deer or two and a bunny but no roosters....
Never went back after that but I've heard some have had good productive days...

IMHO there is plenty other areas that can be more productive for less $$$ (comparative to what Woodhill costs) that you could visit on regular basis and not just when you've been allocated a day... The key with upland i have found is that you spend your valuable time to find a valuable hunting ground, from then on your cherish it, respect it, don't abuse it and hold it close to your heart as they don't come by easily in the lands of Auckland. But you do need to spend time driving around knocking on some doors first...
