Thread: 25 Miles Out

The Mount looks small from out there - had a great day on Tuesday - invited by a Mate to go fishing 25 miles out - shit - will my stomach stand that? - a light breakfast and took the Paihia Bombs, kept looking at the horizon - and into the Terakihi - the Bombs worked well and felt fine all day - ended up with a Terakihi limit each but plenty went back over the side - bloody Cudas wouldn’t leave the Terakihi alone so had to move around a bit - a few Cudas in the bin for groper bait next time. Electric reels in 130m of water work well - the sea chopped up so we couldn’t get out a bit further onto a Groper spot. Bastard northerly wind got up so a very bouncy ride back to the Mount. A long time since I filleted a Terakihi - lovely eating for a while!

A 7.5m Extreme Ali boat with a 250 inboard/outboard motor is a great way to travel - beats doing my Tuesday trap lines!
