    2HP YAmaha

People, I have a 2HP little Yamaha 2 stroke. It has a 1.2 litre tank. Its pushing a little Nifty inflatable, like a Scout 365.
Any guesses how long it will run at full throttle on a tank? An hour?

Much less if your going uphill and way more if your turned downhill for the entire tank

1,25 litres per hour if the 2hp is accurate motor in good condition, prop in good nick and matched to the motor and if the motor has a BSFC is around 500 to 600 grams per kW hour and the fuel has an sg of 0,73.

Worth noting if you were not aware, if wot is 5000 rpm, the throttling back to 4000 will about halve your fuel consumption per hour. Fuel/prop and power produced, reduces as a cube of the RPM.

No, you will not get from Waikouaiti into Dunedin on a tank full.

Yeah, I occasionally watch boatzone on youtube, and you see some boats running quintupple 450's. Insane fuel consumption. Inboard diesels would be sooo much more economical, but wouldn't look as cool as a bank of 5 motors hanging off the back, hoovering over a ton of fuel an hour.

I got a 150 merc 4 stroke on an aluminium boat, all up weight with passengers about 1100kg.... better than 2km/L at cruising speed. Can get 300km from the 125L tank if driving economically in good conditions.

You want easy starting, use 91 octane. You want more boogie us 98 octane.... Happy medium is mix of both, strangely better than 96 octane.

    I have a 150 Suzuki and get a but under 2 km/l.
But I usually cart way to much crap so could probably improve things.

Flew a 2hp and blow up boat into Sutherland sound....mate who shall reman nameless insisted on flying in I think from memory 2x 20l containers of fuel for it after I had talked him out of the third one.
We used maybe 3 liters lol but lighting the camp fire was easy.
