I've been messing around with flies or very light jigs on spin gear with some success. There are more refined ways of doing it than a bubble float. Tungsten flies are heavy enough to cast with light gear and other flies work well under a slim float. I find it an enjoyable way of fishing. There's heaps of useful gear on AliExpress and our American friends are way ahead of us on this aspect of the sport (see YouTube). If a river (or lake) is open to spinning, I can't see a problem from a F&G standpoint.

Yeah, what I found is light tackles can bring more fun, I use 1.68m rod, UL action, baitcaster reel. It `s light but also strong enough to big fish if do it right.
