Anyone keen for a spearfish near/out of Omaha/Northland on Friday?

    Hi team,

I have Friday off work and am keen to get in the water while I am up north from Chch. Keen to smack over a fat winter kingie and get into some snapper too. I'll be based in Omaha so would be keen on a shoredive anywhere from round Omaha all the way up to Whananaki - 2.5hrs ish drive max.

Alternatively - if anyone is taking their boat out, would be more than keen to tag along with beers/kai for the day etc and chip in for fuel. @MB gave me the full Whangarei experience when he took me out around Xmas last year - got stuck into 20m vis and good kingies out at Hen and Chicks.

    Flick me a PM

Local info is that the Chicks are firing. Mate who is a talented spearo shot 7 snapper up to 7kg, 4 butterfish and a trevally the other day. He also bagged a 2kg crayfish. He didn't see any kingfish despite diving in his reliable spots and under bait schools.
