Gotta correct you Mikee, these are the best of days as we are all still above ground and sucking air.

cool pics guys. love the photos of NZ in the past. some real cool ones about of the old logging days
Well drove over princess drive this morning and anything that floats is out chasing the snapper! I can see the limit down to 6 or 3 for those in a couple of years also they will not handle that kind of pressure for long.
I though about going out but can't seem to find any motivation to actually do it.
Interesting listening to the Rec's talking about those "commercial guys taking all "their" fish" while I was working on a boat in the marina yesterday. Some of their attitude makes me bloody cross
They really have no idea of the amount of fish they ("recreational fisherman") take. I recon at least 10 ton comes up the ramp on a good day. Everyong I see seems to have "got their limit" and on one boat yesterday there were 6 fisherman so 60 snapper for that one boat!!
BUT I do agree there should be no trawling / danish seaining withing 3-4NM of shore in Tasman bay
Far from everyone gets their limit Mikee

I know but not what I saw at the ramp yesterday, there was a shit load of limits caught off Rabbit Island. As an aside most of the fish I saw yesterday were 30-35cms.
I also know the "commercial guys" are far from perfect especially the smaller operators but its same on both sides.
when you understand how the commercial and recreational quota is calculated it becomes very clear why this dosent happen anymore
there is only a fraction of the fishery there was back then
