I'm in two minds. It seems like madness that you can take a boat out, or in my case a 180HP jetski without any training. On the other hand, I see a boat license as another tax that honest, law abiding people will pay, while the ferals that are likely to cause problems ignore it and just carry on regardless. Who is going to enforce a boat license in the Far North? It's the wild west on the water.

I'm out on the water a lot and see all sorts of crazy shit. People hooning along at night or in thick fog with no lights etc. With the story in question (if it's accurate, you have to wonder with today's journalism), what led to the accident? No flood lights, no radar, not looking where they were going?
