    Boats and Motors :-((((

    I give up
Bought a new Suzuki 140 11 months ago done 83 hours and major fault
Left yesterday for Nelson without diagnosis to why Low Oil pressure alarm activating but was not a sensor
Outboard shop (top guy) rang later in day and said found problem and some oil regulator thingi
A 1st in NZ for this model (which is actually same in 100hp and 115hp as the 140hp)

So no parts in NZ and part to come from Japan
I said tell them if they ever want to find a potential flaw or possible "rare" fault - lend motors to me as I will have it develop/occur for sure

Me and boats are just not meant to be
So mid Jan before up and running – good thing is I wont have to be dodging all the Xmas loopies that flood the Sounds over that period – or the Boat Police who I detest

On the positive side its not a $35 grand Xmas pressie to yourself for a new one. Rowing is not really an option nor is hitch hiking

Yea - lucky with neighbors and I dont want to go near the mad house town next month anyways
But - shit I do not have luck Re motors
This will all be covered - but to not have indipendence out here with boat only access in & out - not to mention fishing
Dingy - watch the hooks on the inflatable sides

Bugger, I assume under warrenty tho.
    Dennis will look after ya.
What you need is a spare boat or 2,whenever something must always work you have to have backups.

If I had better beach access/suround - I would have a tin 12" with 15hp - but our position is just not suited to such
Bloody nusence as be exc for quick earl morning fishing etc
Could have one as back up in shed in town I suppose - but they need using reg as you well know
I will be up an at-em when the masses go back to the rat race late Jan
Best time anyway as you know from then on

Have a good one Cam/Mike - dont drink to much
If you need a fix - have 10 crates of Wiakato in shed (the Quart bottles too)
That will put a shine on yr turds :-))

    PS
Dennis upset - he dumbfounded over it as wer Suzuki NZ - I heard him talking to them yday before he towed her back to Stoke
Top guy - busy too - 2 staff now

If it is going to take months to burn a tank just keep enough in it so you are requarly topping up with fresh mix

I’ll be honest and admit I enjoy fishing out of a tinny more than a “ Big Boat “ .
There is just something about it , maybe memories of my younger days and the Christmas Holiday freedom that a tinny with a full tank of fuel and a 10hp outboard gave a young fella .

    Merry Christmas.
